The Exchanging Hands Clothing Closet is an independently funded and operated resource provided by UHHB for the exclusive use of servicing individuals in Detroit and surrounding Counties who are living with HIV. Some of the disparities our clients face are the lack of health insurance, low-to-no income, housing instability, substance and mental health support, and trauma.
Exchanging Hands is geared towards boosting the morale of our clients by assisting them in feeling good about themselves by having a safe space to access nice outfits to look presentable in on the go or at work!
Exchanging Hands is not funded under any grant, UHHB staff volunteer their time to go above and beyond to meet our clients' needs. Because of this Exchanging Hands purely runs on donations and is in need of help to keep these efforts going. If you would like to donate to the closet directly please contact the Exchanging Hands Liaison Daniel W. at 313-806-2767 or dwilliams@miunified.org.
