VP of Development


UNIFIED – HIV Health and Beyond (UHHB), seeks an experienced, dynamic and energetic Vice President of Development to lead and implement the organization’s regional fundraising plan. With offices in Detroit, Ypsilanti and Jackson and serving Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Jackson, Lenawee, Washtenaw, Livingston, Lapeer and St. Clair counties in Michigan there is an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to lead a robust fundraising program. The $3.7 million annual budget supports a staff of 48 and provides 15 services to those who have been newly diagnosed with HIV or who are living with HIV.  The vision for UHHB is to be a nationally recognized multi-service center creating positive change through regional impact, innovation and sustainability to promote HIV health and beyond. UHHB uses approaches to help residents in its service area living with or affected by HIV achieve optimal health through compassionate direct care, support services, prevention and education. The Vice President of Development will oversee all aspects of the organization’s fundraising program which includes major gifts, direct mail, special events, corporate, and foundation programs. The Vice President will also serve as the chief staff liaison with the External Affairs Committee of the Board and will serve as a member of the agency’s senior leadership team working closely with the President and CEO.  Strategic thinking and a calm and deliberate sensibility are critical to the success of this position as is an experienced track record in fundraising (with major gifts experience preferred).  Volunteer management, as well as the ability to engage a wide variety of people and translate those connections into deeper relationships with the agency are also desired.
