13th Annual Wine Cellar – Raising Funds to Help Clients and the Community
Thank you to all who made the 13th (and Final) Wine Cellar a smashing success! Our sponsors, guests,
advertisers and auction/raffle donors helped UNIFIED raise $12,000 in support of our client care and prevention
THANK YOU, KEITH AND MARTIN!
Keith Orr & Martin Contreras, Wine Cellar Co-Founders
We were pleased to honor event co-founders, Martin Contreras and Keith Orr, for 13 years of hard work and
dedication in making the annual Wine Cellar a popular and moving event raising funds for the ongoing efforts
to end HIV in our community. They were honored with proclamations from both the City of Ann Arbor and the
City of Ypsilanti; a commendation from Congresswoman Debbie Dingell’s office, a specially selected bottle of
sparkling wine and an original portrait of Martin, Keith and Duke the Dog (also a long-time member of the Wine
Cellar committee) painted by Richard Reeves.
The evening was full of good cheer as guests sampled fabulous fare provided by our food purveyors – Bona
Sera Restaurant and Sweet Gem Confections. Sixteen festive wines were provided for tasting by Everyday
Wines. Our hosts, Martin Contreras and Keith Orr of the \aut\BAR, and the Wine Cellar committee gathered
an impressive collection of wines for the evening’s raffle. This year’s desserts were made possible by the
\aut\BAR, Bona Sera Restaurant and Zingerman’s Bakehouse.
The Lightning Fast Live Auction featured wine signed by a bevy of celebrities including Patty Griffin, Suzanne
Vega, Loreena McKennitt, Margaret Atwwod, Marc Cohn, Nick Offerman and Cheryl Wheeler.
Special thanks to our evening’s Masters of Ceremonies, Christopher Taylor, May of Ann Arbor, and Amanda
Edmunds, Mayor of Ypsilanti.
Throughout the evening, Terry McClymonds challenged our guests’ knowledge of all things wine with an array
of trivia questions.
The musical stylings of the Jesse Kramer Trio kept our toes tapping.
Congratulations to Rachel Janiga who won the evening’s grand raffle prize – a signature collection of 57
bottles of select wines donated by local community members, businesses and wine aficionados.
